In 1999, three women with a shared history of working with individuals with developmental disabilities founded Supporting Alternative Solutions. Through their work within social service agencies they saw a need for an alternative to the traditional residential programs. Their commitment and desire to support individuals with developmental disabilities and their belief that all people deserve to live with respect and dignity led them to create Supporting Alternative Solutions (SAS).
